COVID Precautions At OCPT

COVID Precautions at Orange County Physical Therapy

Orange County Physical Therapy knows that the novel coronavirus is still very much on everyone's mind. Even with a vaccine being available for our providers, we're still amid new cases in our community. We'd like to take this time to answer some of the questions you may have about our Newport Beach physical therapy location's COVID precautions.

Is It Safe to Be at Physical Therapy?

When both the staff and the patients are doing what they can according to guidelines, physical therapy is safe to continue. Ceasing physical therapy may set the patient back in their rehabilitation causing them longer recovery times or only partial recovery. To keep you on the path of healing and the best quality of life, patients are asked to keep their appointments unless they've been asked by a medical professional to hold off until after the virus ends.

COVID Precautions

Some of the precautions that are taken are the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). These can be in the form of masks, clear face guards, gloves, etc. These precautions are taken by staff and the patients. Other protective measures include frequent hand washing between clients, wiping down equipment with virus-killing disinfectant sprays and wipes, and maintain a healthy distance when applicable.

Private treatment rooms are used. One on One care without the use of aides with increased spread of infection. We also perform careful screenings at our office’s entrance, checking for elevated temperature and COVID symptoms. Should patients exhibit any of the COVID symptoms or a temperature above normal, we will not allow them at the appointment for that day for the health and safety of our staff and other patients.

Our Promise to You

We have dedicated our lives to healing. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we operate, it has not changed our values or our dedication to our patients. We are working hard to keep all surfaces clean and vigilantly checking patients for COVID symptoms before entering our facility, all while continuing to offer high-quality physical therapy services.
